FLORENCE, Ky., Jan. 28, 2011 – Grand Daddy finished second in the Forego Stakes last year at Turfway Park and returns this year for another shot at the trophy, one of a dozen older horses to line up for the $50,000 6 1/2-furlong race on Saturday.

Grand Daddy comes in off two straight wins at Turfway, most recently a four-length score in an optional allowance race a month ago. He has three wins and two seconds in six starts on Turfway's Polytrack and will be coming from off the pace. Regular rider James Lopez will be aboard for trainer Tom Drury.

Tend has been claimed twice in the past year but in his 26 career starts has raced primarily in stakes and allowance company. Owners Billy, Donna and Justin Hays have built their success on well-chosen claims, and Tend fits right in, posting a high level optional allowance win at Churchill in November and finishing third in the Holiday Cheer Stakes at Turfway Jan. 1 since they claimed him for $80,000 last October. He has five wins, two seconds, and two thirds on all weather surfaces, including a win in three starts at Turfway. Perry Ouzts rides for trainer Tony Scott.

Multiple stakes winner Cool Bullet won his only start to date on an all-weather surface, the Hansel Stakes at Turfway last spring. He worked a best-of-15 five furlongs at Fair Grounds on Jan. 21 and ships from there for the Forego. Trainer Steve Margolis has named Jozbin Santana to ride.

Disco Troop has raced only three times and not since June, but he has two wins in three starts on Polytrack, one at Keeneland and one at Arlington, and posted four bullet or near-bullet works in the last month, most recently a best-of-17 three furlongs at Keeneland on Tuesday. When he wins, he wins gate to wire. Eric Reed trains and John McKee will ride.

Also entered for the Forego are Diferentkindagreat (jockey Marcelino Pedroza Jr.); Turfway stakes winner Golden Country (Rodney Prescott); Baba Booey (Juan Vargas); Parioli's Trick (leading rider Ben Creed); Harlan Street (Scott Spieth); Bee Line's Edge (Greta Kuntzweiler); Silver Summation (Thomas Pompell); and Get Rich Quick (Nelson DeSouza).

The Forego Stakes is the ninth of 10 races on Saturday, the last Saturday card run at 1:10 p.m. Turfway changes to a 5:30 p.m. post on Saturdays beginning Feb. 5.
