FLORENCE, KY . . . February 4, 2010 . . . Ten older fillies and mares are entered for the one-mile Likely Exchange Stakes at Turfway Park Saturday, including stakes winners Exotic Bloom and Danzon, respectively first and third in the My Charmer Stakes last month.

In her most recent start, Danzon defeated males in a one-mile allowance race a month ago at Turfway. The seven-year-old mare does her best work closing from far off the pace, and she can expect some speed in front of her in the Likely Exchange from Unspoken Word and Silver Time. Danzon is two-plus years removed from her Grade III win in the Kentucky Cup Distaff at Turfway but has been running well since returning to the track two starts ago for the My Charmer. Rex Stokes III was aboard for the first time for the allowance win and has the mount again for trainer Kellyn Gorder.

Exotic Bloom has not started since winning the My Charmer two months ago but has been training well over the Polytrack at Keeneland for trainer Frederick Seitz. She does well racing a few lengths off the lead and in 11 starts on all-weather surfaces has missed the money only twice, winning five times. She has had several different riders and this time benefits from Rodney Prescott's experience.

Unspoken Word won this race last year and with two notable exceptions has been a steady though not brilliant performer in her seven starts since. One of those exceptions was her last race, the Bessarabian Stakes at Woodbine in late November, when she finished 10th and last. Usually on or near the lead, she broke poorly in the Bessarabian and never got into the race. Despite the performance at Woodbine, Unspoken Word does run well on all-weather surfaces, with a 3-2-2 record in 11 such starts. Tom Pompell will ride for trainer Mike Maker.

Looking to make the jump to stakes winner is Miss Luann, a four-year-old filly trained by Dale Romans. Unraced until December 2009, Miss Luann has two wins and a second in three starts, all at Turfway. She comes into the Likely Exchange off a neck allowance win that she rescued from a poor start. Orlando Mojica has been named to ride.

Others entered for the Likely Exchange are On a Roll (jockey Tony Farina); graded stakes-placed Lady's Laughter (John McKee); Rinterval (IRE) (Ben Creed); Fashionable Score (Nelson Arroyo); Silver Time (Fernando De La Cruz); and Tempo Approved (Hector Rosario Jr.).

The Likely Exchange is the 11th of 12 races on Saturday’s card. First post is 1:10pm.
