| Entry fee | $150 if received after November 1, 2008 $140 if received before November 1, 2008 $135 if received before October 1, 2008 $48 is deposited to contest card as live bankroll; the remainder is applied to purses. In advance: cash, check, or credit card. Do not mail cash. At the door (if seats remain): cash or check only. Entry fees are not refundable. No limit on number of entries per person. Entry fee includes buffet, two drink tickets, and handicapping resources. |
| Format | All wagers are $2 win and place. Players must wager $2 to win and $2 to place on each contest race. Players may use the same horse for both bets or choose one horse to win and another to place. Standings will be posted on selected video monitors. | Races in Play | Turfway Park management will designate a range of races from five selected tracks as contest races. Each player may play as many races as his/her bankroll will allow, but all must be selected from among the designated races. Every effort will be made to include races at tracks in Kentucky, New York, Florida, Louisiana, and Illinois. There are no mandatory or optional races. The list of contest tracks and races will be available at the FasTrack booth and online on Friday, December 5. |
| Scratches Non-Starters | If a player's horse is scratched, the wager may be changed before the start of the race. If the player fails to change the wager, there will be a refund for that horse after the race is declared official. If the player's horse is declared a non-starter, the wager will be refunded after the race is declared official. |
| Prizes* | Placings will be determined by each player's accumulated winnings**, not by bankroll or account balance. The player with the highest accumulated winnings shall earn first place, the player with the second-highest winnings will finish second, and so on. In case of a tie, the placing will go to the player having the greatest percentage of winners. Players will be able to cash their remaining bankrolls after the last contest race is declared official. All money remaining on the contest card must be cashed out by 5:30pm on December 7, 2008, or the remaining amount will be forfeit. All decisions by Turfway Park management are final. 1st place: $7,500 and a spot in the national contest*** 2nd place: $4,500 and a spot in the national contest*** 3rd place: $2,500 and a spot in the national contest*** 4th place: $1,000 5th place: $500 6th – 10th places: $300 each *Payouts based on a minimum of 300 entries. **For example, a player starts the day with the $48 bankroll and bets $2 win and place, leaving the bankroll at $44. The player's horse wins and pays $10 to win and $4 to place. The player's score is now $14 and the bankroll stands at $58. The player is permitted now to bet the $58 back at $4 per race, so the more a player wins, the more races he/she can wager. However, the winner will be declared by accumulated winnings, not by total bankroll. ***Players already qualified for the national tournament will play for purse money only. |
